Public Works floats tender for Kabd roads, bridges and rainwater drainage

. . . plans 6.5 Ring Road completion; Kabd road project to connect Sixth and Seventh Ring Roads with Al-Salmi Road

The Ministry of Public Works has announced a tender for the construction, completion and maintenance of roads and services in the Kabd area, including two car bridges and two pedestrian bridges.

The project aims to improve traffic flow and connectivity to South Saad Al-Abdullah City, West Abdullah Al-Mubarak City and Shaddadiyah Industrial City. It is also intended to facilitate movement for residents of neighbouring areas and increase the capacity of bridges and surrounding roads to accommodate traffic volumes.

The project includes rainwater drainage services designed to reduce asphalt deterioration caused by water accumulation on roads and help prevent future flooding.

The scope of work includes completing the 6.5 Ring Road from Kabd Al-Sulaibiya Road to Al-Salmi Road and connecting the area to the main surrounding road network, including the Sixth Ring Road, Seventh Ring Road and Al-Salmi Road. These connections are intended to facilitate traffic to and from Kabd while supporting development in the area, particularly in view of new residential projects expected to accommodate high population densities.

The project also covers the development of existing and proposed roads linking industrial areas and cities, as well as improvements to roads and services serving farms, sewage treatment plants, oil well areas, water wells and industrial zones.

In addition, the works include designing safer alternative routes to replace existing roads considered unsuitable and posing serious risks to users. The development plan also covers the industrial craftsmen area in Kabd.
