Kuwait weather: Scattered rain, humidity and fog expected over weekend

Kuwait is expected to experience hot and humid conditions during the day and mild to warm weather at night over the weekend, with low and medium-level clouds bringing scattered light rain, which could turn thundery at times. The Meteorological Department said there is also a possibility of fog in some areas, particularly during the evening and early morning hours.

Acting Director of the Department Dharar Al-Ali told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that weather maps and numerical models indicate Kuwait will be affected by an extension of a low-pressure system coinciding with an upper-level low-pressure system. The conditions are expected to increase low and medium clouds and produce scattered light rain, occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms.

Winds will generally be light to moderate from the southeast, occasionally becoming active, while visibility could be reduced by fog in some areas. On Thursday, the weather will be hot, partly cloudy and relatively humid, particularly along coastal areas. Winds will be light to moderate, shifting from variable to southeasterly at speeds of 8 to 30 kilometers per hour, with a chance of scattered light rain. Maximum temperatures are expected to reach 40 to 42 degrees Celsius, while sea conditions will be slight to moderate, with waves of 1 to 3 feet.

Thursday night will be warm to mild, partly cloudy and humid, especially along the coast. Winds will be light to moderate, shifting from southeasterly to variable at 8 to 32 kilometers per hour, with a chance of scattered light rain. Minimum temperatures are expected to range between 26 and 28 degrees Celsius, with sea waves of 1 to 4 feet.

On Friday, temperatures will remain high, with hot, partly cloudy and humid conditions, particularly along coastal areas. Winds will be light to moderate and occasionally brisk, blowing from the south to southeast at 10 to 40 kilometers per hour. Scattered light rain is possible, while maximum temperatures are forecast to range between 41 and 43 degrees Celsius. Sea conditions will be slight to moderate, with waves of 1 to 4 feet.

Friday night will be warm to mild and humid, especially along coastal areas. Winds will be light to moderate and occasionally brisk, shifting from southeasterly to variable directions at 10 to 40 kilometers per hour. Scattered rain and fog are possible in some areas. Minimum temperatures are expected to range between 24 and 26 degrees Celsius, while sea waves will range from 2 to 6 feet and may occasionally become rough.

On Saturday, the weather will be hot, humid and partly cloudy, with southeasterly to variable winds ranging from light to moderate and occasionally becoming active at speeds of 8 to 40 kilometers per hour. Scattered rain is possible and may be accompanied by thunderstorms at times. Maximum temperatures are expected to range between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius, with sea waves of 2 to 6 feet and occasional rough conditions.

Saturday night will be warm to mild and humid, with light to moderate southeasterly to variable winds at 8 to 32 kilometers per hour. Fog is possible in some areas, while minimum temperatures are expected to range between 23 and 25 degrees Celsius. Sea conditions will remain slight to moderate, with waves of 1 to 4 feet.
