Electricity and Water Ministry Begins Periodic Maintenance of Power Grid
The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy announced that periodic maintenance works on the electrical power grid will begin tomorrow, Thursday, as part of its plan to enhance network efficiency, improve readiness for the upcoming summer season and reduce emergency faults.
The ministry’s official spokesperson said the maintenance programme includes work on the components of the electrical transmission and distribution networks, beginning with the main transmission stations and extending to secondary substations. The programme will also cover overhead lines and underground cables.
The ministry explained that these works may result in temporary power interruptions in some areas, according to a scheduled timetable that will be announced through the ministry’s official social media accounts. It stressed that the maintenance programme is designed to ensure the speed and efficiency of the work.
The ministry added that customers affected by the scheduled maintenance will receive advance notifications through the government’s unified communications platform (Sahl), with maintenance schedules also published through the ministry’s official social media accounts.
The ministry emphasized that the maintenance programme is part of its ongoing efforts to improve the quality of services provided to citizens and residents, while reaffirming the importance of their cooperation and understanding of the scheduled works.
