IRU gives companies 90 days to report national workforce data

The Insurance Regulatory Unit has given insurance companies under its supervision 90 days from the end of each financial year to submit data on the number and percentage of national workers employed in the insurance sector, in accordance with an approved reporting model.

The requirement was issued under Circular No. 20 of 2026 on the adoption of a data model and ratios for national workers in the insurance sector. The circular is based on Law No. 125 of 2019 regulating insurance and its executive regulations and amendments, as well as Resolution No. 12 of 2025 concerning the conditions governing jobs that must be registered.

Under the circular, all insurance companies subject to the Unit’s supervision must complete the approved form detailing the percentage of national workers employed in the sector, in line with decisions issued by the Unit and other competent authorities, including the ratios stipulated in Resolution No. 12 of 2025.

The Unit requires companies to ensure that the information submitted reflects their actual status as of December 31 of each year. The completed form, together with all required information and in accordance with the specified instructions, must be submitted within a maximum of 90 days from the end of the financial year.

The regulator stressed that all companies are required to complete the requested data and submit it within the specified deadline, with the workforce figures and percentages reflecting their status as of December 31 each year.

It also warned that failure to comply with the circular could result in the violating company being held accountable under Law No. 125 of 2019, its executive regulations and amendments, as well as any other relevant legislation. The Unit may also take the necessary legal measures against companies that fail to meet the requirements.
