785 million dinars decrease in demand deposits

The value of the decline in demand deposits until last July amounted to 785 million dinars on an annual basis, at a rate of approximately 8.4 percent. Investment sources linked this to the tangible increases witnessed in the daily trading value on the stock exchange, which recorded unusually large values over successive periods.

Sources pointed out that it is natural, considering the absence of other opportunities, the rise in real estate prices, and the significant instability of prices, considering the gaps that the market witnesses from time to time, that the stock market was a lucrative alternative, especially with the return of some popular groups to the forefront again, as per Al Jarida.

The value of demand deposits in July 2023 amounted to 9.393 billion dinars and decreased by the end of last July to 8.60 billion. According to sources, most of the demand deposits belong to the private sector, where they are set aside to seize quick and urgent opportunities and used in some turns witnessed by the stock markets during financial periods.
