French Transport Minister Philippe Tabarrou said on Friday that 52 French ships are currently stranded in the Gulf waters, and eight more in the Red Sea.
Tabaro told French media, “There are about 50 ships – 52 ships to be exact – in the waters of the Gulf, and eight ships in the Red Sea, and we are in constant contact with their crews, as there are French sailors on board a number of these ships,” reports Al-Rai daily.
