6-Steps for issuing Civil IDs to women with revoked nationality

The Public Authority for Civil Information has announced a new mechanism for issuing civil ID cards to individuals whose Kuwaiti citizenship was revoked under Article (8) of the Nationality Law. This initiative is part of the government’s ongoing efforts, through various ministries and sectors, to streamline processes and provide necessary facilitation for those affected by the revocation of their citizenship.

On Thursday, March 20, the Authority outlined six key points of the new mechanism on its official account on the X platform.

  1. The payment notification for the new civil ID card fees will be received through the “My Identity” app and the unified government application for electronic services, “Sahel.”
  2. The card issuance fees must be paid through the “Sahel” application or the Authority’s official website.
  3. Await the card readiness notification, which will be sent via the “My Identity” app and the “Sahel” application.
  4. To collect the new civil ID card, the old card must be returned by depositing it in the designated receiving devices.
  5. If old civil ID was submitted to the General Directorate of Nationality and Travel Documents, one must first retrieve it from the same authority and then present it to the Civil Information Authority to collect new ID, ensuring its readiness beforehand.
  6. The readiness of new civil ID can be tracked through the official website of the Civil Information Authority without needing to visit in person.
