A 6.4-magnitude earthquake shook the southern coast of the Philippines on Wednesday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
There were no immediate reports of damage, and authorities did not issue a tsunami warning.
The quake, initially recorded as a magnitude 6.7, occurred at a depth of 58.5 kilometers, roughly 27 kilometers east of Santiago town on the island of Mindanao.
Residents in nearby areas reported feeling strong tremors, but local Philippines officials confirmed that emergency services are monitoring the situation and that there have been no casualties reported so far.
Precautionary measures remain in place as authorities continue to assess the impact and ensure the safety of communities in the affected regions.
