A 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck Malatya province in southern Türkiye early Wednesday morning, according to the Turkish news agency Anadolu.
The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) confirmed that the quake occurred at 09:00 local time (06:00 GMT).
AFAD stated that the earthquake originated at a depth of 7.03 kilometers beneath the Earth’s surface, with its epicenter located in the Battalgazi district of Malatya.
Authorities have not yet reported any immediate information regarding casualties or material damage following the tremor.
Emergency teams continue to assess the situation and monitor the affected areas for any potential aftershocks or impacts.
