48 liquor bottles found buried in Mina Abdullah desert
Asian expat confesses to trafficking in locally-manufactured booze

Mina Abdullah police have taken into custody an Asian man after finding 48 bottles of locally produced liquor bottles buried underground in a desert area, in an unusual method of storing the contraband.
The arrest came as part of ongoing security efforts to combat drugs and contraband under the supervision of Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Public Security Affairs Major General Hamad Al-Munaifi, Head of the Security Directorates Affairs Sector Brigadier General Abdulaziz Al-Omar, and Ahmadi Security Director Brigadier General Omar Al-Kandari, with follow-up from his assistant, Brigadier General Abdullah Sanidih.

According to a security source , a patrol from Mina Abdullah police station was on routine duty in a nearby desert area when officers became suspicious of the Asian expatriate who was wandering around without any apparent reason. When officers approached and questioned him, the man discarded some belongings and attempted to flee into the desert. The officers pursued and arrested him.
During questioning, the man reportedly confessed to burying bottles of locally produced liquor underground and retrieving them as needed for sale. Officers also found a large sum of money in his possession, which was believed to be proceeds from previous sales. The suspect then led officers to the location where the bottles had been buried. Police recovered a total of 48 bottles that the suspect had buried shortly before his arrest.
The suspect has been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation and the necessary legal actio
