437 citations issued, 29 arrested in massive security sweep in Mahboula today

The Ministry of Interior announced a joint security and traffic campaign was carried out early Thursday morning in Mahboula by the General Traffic Department Emergency Police.

The campaign, to strengthen public safety and combat violations, led to a number of arrests and the issuance of traffic citations.

The Al-Rai daily said, 437 traffic citations were issued during the campaign; nine persons were arrested for violating residency and labor laws; six persons wanted by law were detained along with four who did not carry any identification papers.

This is in addition to arresting three minors driving without license, three detained for possessing alcohol and drugs; two person who were reported absconding by their employers; two who appeared under the influence of drugs or alcohol and also seized three vehicles and motorcycles wanted by the judiciary.

The ministry disclosed security campaigns will continue across various regions and urged the public to comply with traffic and safety and security laws.
