38th Gulf Traffic Week under theme ‘Driving Without a Phone’ kicks off today

The 38th Unified Gulf Traffic Week officially kicked off in Kuwait on Sunday, held under the theme “Driving… Without a Phone.” The event was launched under the patronage and presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in The Avenues Mall.

In his opening address, Lt. Gen. Salem Al-Nawaf highlighted the significance of Gulf Traffic Week in raising awareness about road safety and promoting responsible driving behavior to protect lives and property across the Gulf. He conveyed the greetings of Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah and his wishes for the success of the event, reports Al-Jarida.

Al-Nawaf emphasized the importance of community cooperation with security agencies to reduce traffic accidents and build a safer, more disciplined traffic environment. He also announced that Kuwait’s amended traffic law will come into effect on April 22, aiming to enhance road safety and ensure stronger compliance with traffic rules.

He concluded by thanking all participating and supporting entities, expressing hope that these joint efforts will serve the good of the country and the safety of its people.
