30 nurses begin intensive maternal care program at Kuwait’s New Maternity Hospital

The Ministry of Health has kicked off a two-week intensive training course aimed at developing the skills of nurses working in obstetrics and gynecology departments, in collaboration with the Oman College of Health Sciences.

The training is being held at Kuwait’s new maternity hospital and includes 30 nurses from various hospitals across the country, reports Al-Jarida daily.

According to Dr. Iman Al-Awadhi, Director of the Nursing Services Department, the course falls under a memorandum of understanding between Kuwait and Oman and is part of a broader training initiative that encompasses three specialized programs for nursing staff in 2025.

The course features both theoretical lectures and hands-on simulation lab training, designed to equip nurses with the necessary knowledge and clinical skills to deliver safe, high-quality care to women during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum recovery.

This marks the fourth training program in 2025 organized in partnership with Oman, following previous courses in neonatal care, emergency nursing, and nurse education and training.
