27 juveniles referred to Juvenile Prosecution

The Traffic Affairs and Operations Sector, represented by the General Traffic Department, recorded 23,122 various traffic violations within a week.

The General Traffic Department continues its traffic campaigns on various roads in the governorates, through patrols deployed at all intersections and main and secondary roads in the country, as the weekly statistics of traffic patrol campaigns, from January 20 to January 26, resulted in the registration of 23,122 various traffic violations.

The Al-Rai daily added, 394 violating vehicles and motorcycles were impounded, and 17 violators were transferred to precautionary confinement.

The statistics also reported that 27 juveniles were referred to the Juvenile Prosecution, 3 people to the General Administration for Drug Control, 38 people caught in abnormal condition, 3 without ID, 4 without a valid residence permit, and 67 vehicles wanted by law have been referred to the competent authorities.

The patrols also dealt with 2,112 traffic accident reports received by the Operations Department, including 945 minor traffic accidents and 240 traffic accidents that resulted in an injury.
