Nepalese bootleggers arrested in major operation

In a major crackdown on illegal alcohol production, the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Municipality, in coordination with security forces from the Ministry of Interior, raided a clandestine distillery operating in the Sabah Al-Salem area.
The joint operation led to the seizure of 181 barrels filled with locally manufactured liquor, and a large quantity of brew and tools used in the trade and packaging process.
According to officials, the site was set up to produce large quantities of alcohol, in violation of local laws. The raid also resulted in the arrest of several Nepalese workers who were involved in the production and sale of homemade booze.
The authorities confirmed that the operation was the result of close surveillance and coordination between municipal inspectors and police officers, emphasizing the importance of inter-agency collaboration in combating illegal activities that threaten public safety and health.
All confiscated items and the suspects have been referred to the concerned authorities.
