17 persons holding dual citizenship lose Kuwaiti nationality
The Supreme Committee for the Investigation of Kuwaiti Nationality has issued two decisions, published in a supplement to the official gazette Kuwait Alyawm, revoking the nationality of 17 Kuwaitis.
The move was taken in accordance with Articles 10 and 11 of Amiri Decree No. 15 of 1959 and its amendments.
Under Article 10, a Kuwaiti woman does not lose her nationality by marrying a foreigner unless she adopts her husband’s nationality. Article 11 stipulates that a Kuwaiti man forfeits his nationality if he voluntarily acquires the citizenship of another country.
