120 individuals lose Kuwaiti citizenship for holding dual nationality

The Supreme Committee for Kuwaiti Citizenship Investigation has issued a decision to revoke the citizenship of 120 people – people who were found to hold dual nationality.
The decision, published Sunday (today) in the official gazette Kuwait Alyawm, was issued in accordance with Article 11 of Amiri Decree No. 15 of 1959 concerning the Kuwaiti Nationality Law and its amendments.
The article stipulates that a Kuwaiti citizen loses nationality if he/she voluntarily acquires a foreign citizenship, reports Al-Rai daily.
Authorities stated that the measure comes within the framework of implementing the provisions of the nationality law and ensuring compliance with regulations governing Kuwaiti citizenship.
