1,160 bottles, 210 barrels seized in major liquor bust from abandoned house

The Ministry of Interior announced Sunday that a suspiciously-driven vehicle led securitymen to a fully-equipped liquor manufacturing ‘den’ inside an abandoned house.

According to the ministry’s statement, the security authorities had earlier received reports that some Asians were frequently visiting an abandoned property and securitymen were dispatched to monitor the area.

During surveillance, officers stopped a vehicle driven by an Indian as it left the premises. A strong, foul odor was reportedly emanating from the vehicle, raising suspicions.

Upon inspection, officers discovered approximately 1,160 plastic bottles suspected to contain alcoholic beverages prepared for sale.

Following the discovery, the suspect was taken back to the house, where security forces uncovered a comprehensive alcohol production setup. The seizure included three distillation devices, 210 barrels suspected of containing raw material, and 20 empty barrels.

The accused, along with all confiscated materials, was referred to the relevant authorities for legal action.
