11,000 trucks bring in supplies in one month as Kuwait strengthens supply lines

Customs at full capacity as vital goods stream into Kuwait without disruption; Nuwaiseeb border ensures steady flow of food and medicine amid regional tensions

At the Nuwaiseeb Border Crossing, operations continue at full pace as trucks loaded with food and medical supplies enter Kuwait smoothly, reflecting a high level of preparedness and coordination despite ongoing regional challenges.

During a field tour, extensive efforts by the General Administration of Customs were evident in maintaining the steady flow of essential goods. Between February 28 and March 29, the port handled approximately 11,000 trucks, averaging up to 500 trucks per day, significantly reinforcing the country’s food and medicine supply chains.

Director of Nuwaiseeb Customs, Mohammed Al-Balushi, confirmed that operations are running around the clock under an integrated plan. Customs teams are working efficiently to accelerate clearance procedures while maintaining strict regulatory and security oversight.

He emphasized that priority is given to trucks carrying essential goods, with dedicated fast-track lanes ensuring rapid delivery to local markets.

Flexible operational mechanisms are also in place to handle surges in truck traffic without delays, alongside rigorous inspection protocols to guarantee compliance with health and safety standards.

The port is operating at full capacity, supported by advanced electronic systems that reduce waiting times and prevent bottlenecks. Continuous coordination with relevant authorities ensures smooth entry and exit movements, with inspectors deployed across all opoints to monitor operations in real time.

Al-Balushi reassured the public that supplies of food and medicine are flowing steadily, stressing there is no cause for concern. He noted that customs authorities are working under high-level directives to safeguard market stability under all circumstances.

Customs operations are reinforced with advanced inspection tools, including X-ray scanning systems and sniffer dogs, enhancing the detection of prohibited items. During the period, 62 violations of cigarette smuggling were recorded.

Officials noted that one of the main challenges remains limited awareness among some travelers regarding the importance of customs procedures, which are essential for protecting national security—especially under exceptional conditions.

Despite the pressure, customs officers demonstrated professionalism and courtesy, maintaining smooth التعامل with travelers and truck drivers. Their commitment reflects a unified message: readiness to serve and protect Kuwait under all circumstances.
