Sacrificial animal projects limited to existing endowments

The Ministry of Social Affairs said the recent approval to resume sacrificial animal projects applies exclusively to entities with existing sacrificial animal endowments, where proceeds are already earmarked for disbursement. The sources clarified that there will not be a general launch of new projects as in previous years.
This development follows a recommendation made on Monday by the Committee for Regulating Humanitarian and Charitable Work, which called for the reinstatement of both sacrificial animal projects and orphan sponsorship deductions, reports Al-Jarida daily.
The committee, chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, held its fourth meeting with participation from representatives of various concerned government bodies.
The meeting is part of Kuwait’s broader effort to improve the governance and transparency of charitable activities, aligning with international standards and safeguarding the country’s reputation in the global humanitarian community.
