Italian Ambassador to Kuwait, Lorenzo Morini, praised the strong and enduring ties between Italy and Kuwait, highlighting the robust economic and security cooperation between the two nations.
He affirmed that “the Kuwaiti-Italian relationship stands as an exemplary model of a partnership rooted in mutual trust, productive collaboration, and shared values and principles.”
Ambassador Morini made these remarks during a celebration hosted by the Italian Embassy in Kuwait to mark the 79th anniversary of Italy’s Republic Day.
The event was attended by Kuwait’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Ambassador Sheikh Jarrah Al-Jaber, Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs, Ambassador Sadiq Marafi, along with numerous heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations in Kuwait.
Morini expressed appreciation for the cooperation between the two countries, particularly in humanitarian efforts and their mutual commitment to promoting dialogue, peace, and international advocacy for these values.
He described the bilateral relations in economic, trade, and security fields as “excellent,” noting the depth of political dialogue and mutual confidence.
The ambassador emphasized his hope for continued joint work and a further strengthening of the fruitful collaboration in various areas.
Addressing the attendees, Ambassador Morini said, “Your presence here today carries special significance. On June 2, 1946, after immense suffering during World War II, the Italian people voted to establish the Italian Republic.”
He went on to say, “Today, we commemorate a vital moment in our nation’s history — a turning point that ushered in an era of justice, unity, peace, and prosperity for the Italian people. And here, in this hall, we see living examples of the achievements made possible by that historic decision.”
Morini praised the industriousness and creativity Italians are known for, which he said are widely admired around the world. “Kuwait is no exception — in fact, quite the opposite,” he remarked.
“Here, I have found a genuine passion and deep appreciation for ‘Made in Italy’ and all aspects of our culture and traditions. Much of this success is thanks to the Italian community living in Kuwait, and I am truly grateful for their daily efforts in promoting Italy’s image and strengthening the bonds between our two nations and peoples.”
The celebration also featured an exhibition of the latest Italian cars and products available in Kuwait.
