Education Ministry, KOC, and Sports Authority unite to promote school sports activities

Minister of Education, Eng. Jalal Al-Tabtabaei, met Wednesday with representatives from the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) and the Public Authority for Sports to explore avenues of cooperation aimed at enhancing school sports activities.
A key outcome of the meeting, according to Al-Rai daily, was the agreement to form a joint working group tasked with drafting a comprehensive proposal for launching a diverse sports league across schools.
The meeting was attended by a KOC delegation led by Deputy CEO for Planning and Innovation, Mohammed Khalifa Abdul Jalil, along with Director of Public Relations and Media Group, Mohammed Al-Basri.
Also present were Director of the Public Authority for Sports, Bashar Abdullah, Head of Local Relations, Mishaal Al-Mazyad, and Acting Deputy Director General for the “Sports for All” Sector, Haya Al-Dhaham.
The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between the three institutions to promote student participation in sports and support talent development through school-based programs. The proposed league aims to foster a vibrant sports culture within the educational system.
It was agreed that the newly-formed working group will present a detailed vision for the school sports league within two weeks.
The group will outline the responsibilities of each party and recommend the most effective mechanisms for implementing a well-structured league that prioritizes student engagement and athletic growth.
Representing the Ministry of Education at the meeting were Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Facilities and Planning, Eng. Mohammed Al-Khalidi, and Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Development and Activities, Maryam Al-Enezi.
