CITRA blocks ROBLOX in Kuwait over child safety concerns

The Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) has blocked the online game ROBLOX in Kuwait, citing its mandate to protect users, particularly children.
The authority explained that the decision follows complaints from parents and concerned bodies about the risks the game poses, including unsafe practices, online exploitation, harmful behavior, exposure to inappropriate content, and unsafe in-game purchases.
CITRA clarified that the blocking is temporary until discussions with the game’s operators are finalized.
The company must commit to removing offensive or dangerous content and ensuring proper child protection standards before reconsideration of lifting the restriction.
