Boeing [NYSE: BA] has announced the appointment of Musaed AlHawli as Managing Director for Kuwait.

We have continued to evolve strong relationships, form partnerships and successfully offer platforms and services to our stakeholders in Kuwait.” said Sir Michael Arthur, president, Boeing International. “Having Musaed onboard will further strengthens our business presence and will help achieve future success.”

Musaed AlHawli served in the Kuwait Air Force until 2000, retiring at the rank of Brigadier General. He has held management roles in leading Kuwaiti companies including Agility Logistics, Kuwait Reconstruction House and others.

AlHawli brings his 30 years of military and private sector experience to the role, and will be responsible for implementing Boeing’s strategic vision for growth and alignment with key stakeholders in Kuwait. He will coordinate across all business units of Boeing in the country, by leveraging global resources, knowledge, and stakeholder relationships to expand its in-market presence and strengthen Boeing’s competitive position in Kuwait. He will also develop government relations and new business and industrial partnerships that will help to strengthen Boeing’s business in the country. AlHawli will be based in Kuwait City and will report to Bernard Dunn, president of Boeing Middle East, Turkey and Africa.

Boeing International was established in 2001 and is responsible for the company’s international strategy and operations. The organization leads development of the company’s growth and productivity initiatives outside the US and new business and industrial partnerships. It also oversees international affairs, enhances local presence and provides global functional support.

For over 50 years, Boeing has partnered with Kuwait, providing aircraft to meet its commercial and military needs. The partnership began in 1968 when Kuwait Airways Company took delivery of three 707 jetliners. The airline has since operated almost every type of Boeing commercial airplane produced. Boeing’s relationship with the Kuwait Air Force started in 1974, with an order of 36 A-4KU Skyhawks.
