Four people, including two firefighters, were killed, in addition to 37 injured; eight critically, due to the major Parisian bakery explosion earlier today, French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner said Saturday. Some 200 firefighters rushed to the explosion scene to control the fire and evacuate the area, he told reporters.

The deafening explosion occurred in central Paris, leading to the injuries and damage of several shops and properties, said the police. It added that the explosion might have resulted from a gas leak at a bakery in the ninth arrondissement of north-central Paris.
