Kuwait’s Ministry of Health on Saturday stressed its interest in childcare and harnessing all resources and capabilities to acquire more achievements related to children’s lives and health.
This came in a speech delivered on behalf of Health Minister Dr. Bassel Al-Sabah by Assistant Undersecretary for Supportive Medical Services Dr. Fawaz Al-Rifai on the occasion of the opening of the fifth conference on Pediatrics under the title “Future Vision” which will last for three days.
Dr. Al-Rifai said that Kuwait has achieved positive rates, which have been documented in the reports of international organizations over reduction of infant mortality rates below five years of age, in addition to coverage of basic vaccinations and polio eradication for decades.
Kuwait was committed to the global goals and objectives of sustainable development related to the lives and health of children and to ensuring their enjoyment of health and well-being, he added.
He pointed out that the conference coincided with the achievements of the huge health projects witnessed recently under the framework of the State Development Plan and the future vision of Kuwait 2035 to ensure comprehensive health coverage related to child health.
The Ministry was ready to provide the necessary support to work towards the implementation of the recommendations of the Conference and to strengthen the capacity of the health system with its various components to address the challenges related to the life and health of children.
