Upholding people safety as first priority

A special surprise traffic campaign for violators was launched to ensure reduction in accidents, greater safety and better discipline among public.

The Ministry of Interior carried out a comprehensive surprise security and traffic campaign in the areas of “Khaitan – Farwaniya – Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh – Mutlaa – Mahboula” today, Thursday.

This special campaign involved active participation from the General Traffic Department, the General Department of Rescue Police, the Public Security Sector, the General Department of Special Security Forces and the Women’s Police.

Effectively, this campaign resulted in issuance of 1,676 traffic violations and arrests of 146 people, including 3 for drugs, 21 for expired residency, 32 for no proof, 16 for absence, 39 for arrest, 5 for abnormal condition, 1 for criminal execution, 7 for juveniles and 1 for alcoholic beverages. In addition, 5 vehicles and motorcycles were seized, and 12 wanted vehicles were seized.

All the defaulters were referred to the competent authority to take the necessary legal measures. The Ministry of Interior confirmed that these campaigns come within the framework of the field sectors’ continued efforts to arrest violators, outlaws and violators of the residency law to achieve public discipline, maintain security and order confront and prevent crime and combat negative phenomena.
