Trump warns of strikes on Iran energy sites as gulf tensions escalate

Strait of Hormuz disruption deepens

US President Donald Trump warned that the United States could target Iran’s electricity infrastructure and oil facilities if efforts to end the conflict fail and the Strait of Hormuz remains closed.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel would not commit to a timeline for ending the war, underscoring the uncertainty surrounding the duration of the conflict.

Fresh attacks were reported across Iran, Lebanon and Israel, signaling continued escalation in the region. Shipping activity through the Strait of Hormuz, which is a critical artery for global energy supplies, remains significantly below pre-war levels, raising concerns over prolonged disruptions to oil markets, according to Gulf News.

In the United Arab Emirates, the Kuwaiti oil tanker Al Salmi was struck by what authorities described as an Iranian drone while anchored off Dubai Port.

Emergency teams in Sharjah responded swiftly to the incident, confirming that no injuries were reported.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely as geopolitical tensions intensify, with global markets and maritime security increasingly on edge.
