The Times Kuwait Report
In a landmark moment for Tajik-Kuwaiti relations, the Republic of Tajikistan marked the symbolic laying of the foundation stone for its future embassy premises in Mishref, underscoring the steady growth and deepening partnership between the two friendly nations.
The occasion represented more than the beginning of a new diplomatic building it signified a new chapter in bilateral relations rooted in mutual respect, cooperation, and a shared vision for the future.

The event was attended by His Excellency Dr. Zubaydullo Zubaydzoda, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the State of Kuwait, alongside Dr. Ameera Al-Hassan, Head of Mission of the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) for Kuwait and the GCC, along with distinguished guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Dr. Zubaydullo Zubaydzoda described the event as a deeply meaningful milestone, particularly as his diplomatic tenure in Kuwait draws to a close.
He noted that witnessing the symbolic establishment of his country’s embassy in Kuwait stands among the most significant achievements of his 13-year diplomatic mission.
“This achievement is the culmination of thirteen years of diplomatic work and reflects the excellent bilateral relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the State of Kuwait,” the ambassador said.
“These relations have been built on mutual respect, sincere cooperation, and a shared aspiration to create a more prosperous future for our two friendly nations.”
The embassy emphasized that the establishment of its future diplomatic premises in Kuwait reflects Tajikistan’s long-term commitment to strengthening its presence in the country and advancing relations that continue to flourish across multiple sectors.

The ceremony also highlighted the importance of sustainable development and environmental responsibility, with the symbolic laying of the foundation taking a unique and meaningful form.
Rather than a traditional cornerstone ceremony, the embassy chose to commemorate the occasion through the planting of the first trees at the future embassy site an act symbolizing growth, resilience, and enduring friendship between Kuwait and Tajikistan.
The embassy noted that the gesture reflects its vision for bilateral relations firmly rooted, expansive in reach, and sustainable in contribution.
UN-Habitat’s participation in the initiative further reinforced the environmental significance of the event, aligning with international efforts to promote urban greening, support carbon neutrality, and combat climate change in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals.
Dr. Ameera Al-Hassan praised the initiative, describing it as a thoughtful and forward-looking approach to diplomacy.
She said choosing tree planting as the symbolic foundation for the embassy sends a strong humanitarian and civilizational message, encouraging climate action, sustainable urban development, and collective responsibility toward future generations.
The event served as both a diplomatic milestone and a symbolic affirmation of the strong and evolving partnership between Tajikistan and Kuwait one that, much like the trees planted on the day, is expected to continue growing for years to come.
