Nursing profession takes center stage in health ministry’s plans

Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, Minister of Health, emphasized the significance of the nursing profession, noting that nursing staff make up about 40% of the total workforce in the health sector.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, Minister of Health, stated that the ministry prioritizes the nursing profession, including it in the government’s work initiatives for the first time, recognizing its vital role in promoting societal health, as reported by Al Qabas newspaper.

Al-Awadhi highlighted, during the opening of the conference Innovation in Nursing Care – Transforming the Future of Health Care, the importance of developing nurses’ skills both scientifically and practically through specialized courses in cooperation with international universities and institutions, as well as training programs for national cadres to enhance professional efficiency and improve the quality of health care provided.

He emphasized the significance of the nursing profession, noting that nursing staff make up about 40% of the total workforce in the health sector.

He explained that the role of the Nursing Services Department is not limited to rehabilitation but also extends to active participation in community initiatives, such as awareness campaigns to promote public health awareness.
