Night-time patrols smash cable heist, seize wanted fugitive in twin crime bust

Swift action by security patrols led to the arrest of three suspects in two separate cases involving the theft of electrical cables and iron materials, as authorities intensified efforts to clamp down on property crimes.
The Ministry of Interior Kuwait said in the first incident during a routine patrol, the officers grew suspicious of activity inside a power transformer site.
Two persons were caught red-handed as they attempted to leave the scene, carrying stolen electrical cables and special cutting tools believed to have been used in the theft.
In another case, the operations room was alerted about a theft of iron materials from an asphalt plant. Backup patrols were immediately dispatched, and the suspect’s vehicle was intercepted shortly after it was spotted in the vicinity.
The securitymen found in the vehicle stolen iron materials. When the men in uniform checked the identity of the driver, records showed he was wanted by law and three arrest warrants had been issued against him by the Directorate General for Drug Control, in addition to serve one-month prison sentence.
All suspects have been taken into custody along with the seized items and tools.
