The event, which showcased Indian culture and heritage, began with a traditional dance and an ancient Indian martial arts display. This was followed by a seminar on yoga attended by people from multifaceted backgrounds. An exhibition of traditional Indian customs accompanied the seminar, including a Herbal Plants and Ayurveda Exhibition. The \u200bEmbassy has been organizing various events, online and offline, in the run-up to the IDY for the last two months, including regular yoga classes and sessions.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-99192\" src=\"http:\/\/timeskuwait.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Untitledddd.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/timeskuwait.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Untitledddd.png 600w, https:\/\/timeskuwait.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Untitledddd-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-99191\" src=\"http:\/\/timeskuwait.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Untitled-101.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"366\" srcset=\"https:\/\/timeskuwait.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Untitled-101.png 600w, https:\/\/timeskuwait.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Untitled-101-300x183.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Indian Ambassador H.E. Sibi George began his speech on the occasion with an acknowledgement of the 8th International Day of Yoga and Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (75th anniversary of India\u2019s independence). He highlighted the importance of yoga, stating that it is \u201ca refined product of Indian civilization and is an invaluable gift of ancient India to the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-99194\" src=\"http:\/\/timeskuwait.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/dfd-5.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" srcset=\"https:\/\/timeskuwait.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/dfd-5.png 600w, https:\/\/timeskuwait.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/dfd-5-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When asked about the relevance of\u00a0 Yoga in Indian culture, he pointed out that yoga is a tradition that began thousands of years ago and is India\u2019s contribution to the world. He further underscored the popularity of yoga in Kuwait and all over the world, while noting that Kuwaitis have embraced yoga as an athletic endeavour, and that it provides \u201cPeace and Harmony.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-99193\" src=\"http:\/\/timeskuwait.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/vvvv.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/timeskuwait.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/vvvv.png 600w, https:\/\/timeskuwait.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/vvvv-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Ambassador also addressed the recent controversy over yoga in the Middle East, and explained, \u201cYoga is not a religion; it is a way of life that aims towards a healthy mind in a healthy body.
