The head of the Kuwaiti Federation of Fishermen, Dhaher Al-Suwayan, has requested the Public Authority for Civil Information to solve the issue of the fishermen\u2019s residential addresses based on earlier agreement with the authority officials \u2013 the agreement to allow the fishermen to use the address of the union headquarters, whether in Sharq or Fahaheel, especially since the fishermen who work on fishing trawlers do not have a permanent residence.<\/p>\n
Al-Suwayan added this is because the fishermen work only during the particular fishing seasons and then leave for their home countries and after the end of each fishing season, be it shrimp fishing or otherwise and explained the civil information system had received a limited number of fishermen\u2019s transactions bearing the address of the union headquarters in Fahaheel and Sharq, and after receiving a limited number of requests from fishermen at these addresses, the system stopped and no longer receives the transactions of fishermen at the present time.<\/p>\n
As a result of this many fishermen now have to pay monetary fines, although they are not at fault since it is the system that still refuses all fishermen’s transactions.<\/p>\n
Al-Suwayan called on the civil ID officials to do the necessary and solve this problem as quickly as necessary, as some of them want to leave for their country.<\/p>\n
He pointed out that the Kuwaiti Federation of Fishermen sent a letter to the Director General of the Public Authority for Civil Information on Feb 17, 2022, but so far, unfortunately, the problem remains unresolved.<\/p>\n
Al-Suwayan announced the federation is making great efforts to overcome all challenges facing all fishermen, stressing the importance of concerted efforts in public interest, hoping that the endeavors will be crowned with success.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
