The director of the Kuwait Ports Authority Captain Bader Al-Enezi confirmed that no accidents were monitored in the last three years, according to the certificate of the shipping lines agency, agencies and ship owners.<\/p>\n
In a special statement to Al-Rai, he noted that the authority is safe and operates with high operational efficiency, pointing out the issuance of Certificates of Compliance with the International Code of Ship and Port Security.<\/p>\n
He added the ports are in compliance with international conditions and standards, and explained that the number of employees in the institution has reached 700 in all disciplines.<\/p>\n
During celebration of the national holidays at the Shuwaikh Container Terminal yesterday morning, Al-Enezi congratulated the government and people of Kuwait on the national holidays, pointing out that the ports authority is keen to attract new Kuwaiti graduates to take employment and added the authority after the holidays will announce vacancies in the maritime, engineering, administrative, legal, financial and logistic departments and employ the best hands.<\/p>\n
With regard to the female component, Al-Enezi pointed to the equality of female employees with the male component in rights and duties, in addition to the presence of senior female employees in the institution, as “we have 7 female directors of management with high technical and administrative capabilities.”<\/p>\n
Al-Enezi explained that the authority’s revenues are growing significantly, as its profits reached 50 million dinars last year, despite the conditions of the Corona pandemic.<\/p>\n
It is in the design phase, including in implementation, to be ready by 2025, pointing out that the Corporation has the administrative, technical and naval capacity to manage Mubarak Port, whenever it is requested to do so, and that the retirement movement continues according to the requirements of the Civil Service Commission, and we may extend the tenure of some if need be to train new cadres.<\/p>\n
In turn, the Director of the Maritime Operations Department at Shuwaikh Port, Captain Khalaf Al-Rashidi, said, “The authority continues to receive ships through its ports daily and during the national holidays and official holidays,” noting that “the containers are in constant flow thanks to our guides and technical crews, and they are fully prepared to carry out their job duties entrusted with it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Al-Rashidi added that the Corporation is ready for the expected increase in containers and ships coming after the return to normal life, the lifting of the restrictions of \u201cCorona\u201d and the abolition of health requirements that were imposed on marine traffic.<\/p>\n
Al-Enezi touched on the issue of 4 future projects that the Ports Corporation will implement:
\n1 – A project of the berths from 21 currently to 27 berths in Shuwaikh Port to receive large ships.
\n2 – The project of establishing and developing the Shamlan, Mahboula and Fintas pools.
\n3 – Infrastructure development project for Shuwaikh and Shuabia ports and maintenance of existing berths.
\n4 – Project for the establishment of logistics cities.<\/p>\n
The Director of the Container Terminal Administration at Shuwaikh Port, Jihad Al-Hasawi, revealed that the terminal receives 50,000 containers per month, which means receiving 650,000 containers last year, expecting that the terminal will receive one million containers this year, after the end of the Corona pandemic.<\/p>\n
Al-Hasawi stressed that work continues 24 hours to receive commercial ships loaded with goods to secure the needs of the country, merchants and companies from all countries of the world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
