The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy is studying the decision to proceed with the implementation of the project to supply, install, operate and maintain the Doha Seawater Reverse Osmosis Plant (Phase Two), as recommended by the Central Agency for Public Tenders or to stick to its position and cancel this project, which is expected to produce 60 million gallons per day. <\/p>\n

Responsible sources in the Ministry of Electricity and Water told Al-Rai that the ministry has not yet taken a decision on this issue, although its request to cancel the project was rejected a while ago by the Central Agency for Public Tenders, noting that Minister Dr. Mohammad Abdullatif Al-Fares was keen to take a quick decision in this regard since the agency has extended its closure period until February 22. <\/p>\n

The sources indicated that \u201cthe ministry had previously asked the agency to cancel the aforementioned tender, claiming that it will compensate for its water needs during the coming years from the production of the projects of the Az-Zour North (Phase II) and Al-Khair stations (Phase 1), but the agency was not convinced by the reasons cited by the ministry. The cancellation request was rejected and the project could proceed. <\/p>\n

Sources indicated, “Since the first preliminary meeting that was held on September 20, 2021 nothing new has been said about this project, whose closure period has been extended more than once, except for the ministry’s letter in which it asked the agency to cancel the project.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
