The National Center for Education Development continued, for the third day in a row, sessions of the \u2018First Educational Forum \u2013 2022\u2019, dedicated to discussing development and challenges facing education issues. Today’s session dealt with digital transformation and its role in upgrading the educational process, where academics and specialists emphasized that digital transformation has become a necessity and not an option, and whoever does not follow it will be left out of the race. <\/p>\n
Al-Qabas quoting the Deputy Director-General of the Information Sector at the Central Agency for Information Technology, Dr. Ammar Al-Husseini said technology has become an integral part of business in every institution and in various fields now, and that digital transformation is not concerned with technology only, but also includes human resources, technological procedures, and data provided to the beneficiary, stressing the need to keep pace with the digital divide by qualifying teachers, students, school administrations and all parties to the process by introducing them to basic skills and stressed the need to provide a strategy for digital transformation, and for education to be an essential part of it. <\/p>\n
He pointed to a number of challenges facing digital transformation, including organization, culture, resistance to change, lack of vision and strategy, lack of skills and experience, cyber security challenges and data protection privacy, noting that 83% of digital transformation operations failed due to these challenges, according to a study conducted by McKinsey. <\/p>\n
For his part, the founder and CEO of the Information Age Center for Information Technology Consultations, Dr. Salah Al-Najem said digital transformation helps track faltering students, by providing data analysis according to several indicators, to show a clear picture of them, based on the time they spend in the educational process, average grades, and their activity in the learning management system.
