The Ministry of Public Works expect full completion and initial handover of the New Maternity Hospital during the second quarter of 2022, the moment the Ministry of Electricity and Water gives the new hospital power supply.<\/p>\n
Sources told the Al-Jarida the most important obstacle in the project\u2019s work is the \u2018Sabah E main power station\u2019 which has been summarized, discussed and followed up and approval has been given for feeding the project from the existing power stations until March 2022 until the completion of work on the \u2018Sabah E main power station\u2019.<\/p>\n
The sources pointed out among other obstacles is the failure to issue work visas to bring in skilled workers from abroad and the inability of some workers to return to Kuwait \u2013 workers who are stuck outside the country since February 2020 due to Covid-19. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the sources indicated 26 backup power generators cover 100% of the hospital facilities in the event of a power outage, noting that the project contract includes contractual operational maintenance periods that start immediately after the issuance of the initial receipt certificate, which includes operational maintenance for all project works and its systems for two years, and optional operational maintenance for all project work for 3 years that will be activated once the necessary approvals are obtained, and operational maintenance for 5 years for all medical devices and equipment in the project. <\/p>\n
The sources added, the hospital has a capacity of 780 beds and is built on \u200b\u200b65,000 square meters area inside the Al-Sabah Medical District in a privileged location on the coast of Kuwait Bay taking into account that more than 80% of the rooms give a beautiful view of the Arabian Gulf.<\/p>\n
The total built-up area of \u200b\u200b357,400 square meters, the project was designed according to the latest international standards and codes in the field of gynecology and obstetrics diagnosis and treatment, and the specifications of energy-saving, environmentally friendly green buildings.
