<\/p>\nGreek Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Konstantinos Piperigos held a reception at his residence to honor Sheikha Intisar Salem Al-Ali Al Sabah for her efforts and contribution in volunteer work in the Arab world.<\/p>\n
Addressing the audience that included ambassadors from Cyprus and the European Union, academicians, well-known personalities and journalists, Ambassador Piperigos said, “Two years ago, upon his proposal several Greek associations working in the humanitarian field decided to honor Sheikha Intisar in appreciation of her volunteer work,\u201d adding that given the depth of volunteer work for which Sheikh Intisar is being honored today, it is enormous.<\/p>\n

Acknowledging the award, Sheikha Intisar said: “I thank the Greek ambassador for this honor, because honor always increases enthusiasm, activity and giving, and makes my team happy, because when people know the value of what they are working on and love it, their giving will increase.”<\/p>\n
She added: “The honoring ceremony was to take place in Greece, but due to the conditions imposed by the Corona pandemic, it was postponed, and it happened in Kuwait, in the presence of my friends and with you beautiful people. It is a very joyful moment, and I once again thank His Excellency the Ambassador for taking the time and the initiative to honor me at his country’s embassy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking of her new projects, she said: “We are working on a project\u00a0 in cooperation with the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fisheries Resources, the British Embassy and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). We have completed an awareness program on the effects of plastic on the environment, even though we are people who have nothing to do in this area, but we are looking at the positive side of environmental projects, and we have started and will develop our work.\u201d<\/p>\n
And about her participation a week ago in the \u2018World Innovation Summit in Education\u2019 in Qatar, she said: “I participated in the opening ceremony of the conference in the presence of Sheikha Mozah, and what I said has greatly resonated during the conference, and I received messages of support and praise from around the world.”<\/p>\n

Regarding the award she received, Sheikha Intisar Al Sabah \u00a0said: “It is a hand-carved model that symbolizes two things: the sign of victory and the woman, and it bears my name Intisar, as if it was made specifically for me. This gives a wonderful feeling of new victory.”<\/p>\n
In a chat with journalists on the sidelines of the ceremony, the Greek ambassador stressed on the strength of the Greek-Kuwaiti relations that developed after the liberation of Kuwait, pointing out that his country’s relations with the region as a whole extend for more than 3,000 years, where traces of Greek civilization were found in various Arab regions, including Alexandria and the Failaka Island.<\/p>\n

He added the embassy has issued about 4,000 visas during the past three months, including 3,000 visas in Kuwait and 1,000 from Bahrain. He revealed his country was the first European nation to open doors for tourists from different countries of the world, noting that the conditions for entry are the same and have not changed over time \u2014 two doses of vaccines approved by the European Union, a PCR test 72 hours before arrival, whether vaccinated or not.
