With life returning to normal and the resumption of artistic and cultural activities and events in neighboring countries, after a long wait, Kuwaitis may witness the beginning of the fourth cultural season at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center.<\/p>\n
The Al-Qabas daily quoting sources the contract of the company operating the center is expected to be renewed for a year. In a context that supports this trend, a source in the Ministry of Information said the management of the Jaber Center is still under the supervision of the Amiri Diwan, and said the ministry has not received any other assignment related to the management of this facility.<\/p>\n
The center was a major turning point in the history of cultural life in Kuwait until early March 2020, when its activities were suspended due to the Corona pandemic. The \u2018Kuwait Calling\u2019 show, the first of its kind, was supposed to start in March last year, but Covid-19 ended this dream abruptly.<\/p>\n
The show was to be held in the open air, on a stage specially designed to suit this huge work, in cooperation with the British Rambert Dance Troupe, in addition to the pioneers of theatrical designs \u201859 Productions\u2019, which has won several international awards.<\/p>\n
This work embodies the story of Kuwait and its arts through a unique and unprecedented experience that combines innovative music and contemporary Kuwaiti traditional dances, which are broadcast live to the audience from the roof of the Jaber Center\u2019s exterior building, taking advantage of the jewel-like architectural design.<\/p>\n
The public\u2019s love for the center\u2019s activities did not come out of nowhere. Over the course of four years, the center has played an important role in attracting 270,000 visitors to 328 different activities, with the participation of more than six thousand artists, including musicians, singers, dancers and lecturers, who represented more than 35 countries around the world.
