A number of leading media websites are currently not working, including the Guardian, Financial Times, Independent and the New York Times.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The UK government website – gov.uk – is also down.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Affected websites displayed the message: “Error 503 Service Unavailable”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Early reports have suggested it could be related to Fastly, a cloud computing provider, which underpins a lot of major websites.<\/p>\n

Fastly said it was looking into problems with its global content delivery network (CDN).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\n

In an error message posted just before 11am BST Fastly said it was “currently investigating potential impact to performance with our CDN services.”<\/p>\n

It has not yet provided a formal statement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
