The Supreme Committee for Coronavirus Emergencies in the Council of Ministers approved the arrival of 800 people from certain professions to Kuwait from the 34 country ban list on the condition they be subjected to quarantine at their expense or the expense of the company that requests their presence, Al-Rai daily, quoting sources.<\/p>\n
The second batch awaiting approval is estimated at about 600 others. These professions include doctors, judges, maintenance experts and technical teams in the ministries of oil and electricity.\u00a0 The quarantine option is not feasible for all arrivals from the countries on the 34 country ban list.<\/p>\n
Regarding the reasons for refusing to allow institutional quarantine for all arrivals coming from the banned countries, the daily said, quoting sources, that allowing all arrivals to quarantine negates the need for the list of banned countries, which naturally voids the need to continue assessing health conditions in those countries, some of which are showing an increase in infection rates and instability due to the coronavirus pandemic situation.<\/p>\n
Emphasizing their appreciation for the economic feasibility of the proposal, the sources stressed that “health considerations remain the first criteria, especially in light of the increase in the number of coronavirus infections in Kuwait due to non-compliance with the anti-coronavirus health measures.”<\/p>\n
The countries affected by the ban from where expats are not allowed to enter Kuwait, are France, Argentina, Yemen, India, Iran, China, Brazil, Colombia, Armenia, Bangladesh, Philippines, Syria, Spain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Iraq, Mexico, Indonesia, Chile, Pakistan, Egypt, Lebanon, Hong Kong, Italy, North Macedonia, Moldova, Panama, Peru, Serbia, Montenegro, Dominican Republic and Kosovo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
