Around 200 Bangladeshis, who were arrested following a protest that allegedly turned violent, are threatened with deportation, reports Al-Rai daily.<\/p>\n
An appeal has been sent to the Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Khalid Al-Jarrah to prevent harm being done to them and help them be granted their labor rights. It has been reported the Bangladeshis appealed to their embassy for help when they felt no one else could help them get their rights according to the labor law, especially as they were allegedly\u00a0not paid their salaries for about three months.<\/p>\n
Last\u00a0Thursday, the Bangladeshi group\u00a0demonstrated in front of their embassy for non-payment of their salaries and were allegedly involved in physical assaults of staff inside the embassy, and were allegedly responsible for destroying the embassy property. Consequently, the embassy sought the help of local police and some of them were taken into custody.<\/p>\n
