The European Union managed to bring home over half a million of its citizens who were affected by coronavirus travel restrictions across the world.<\/p>\n
At the beginning of the outbreak, around 600,000 EU citizens declared themselves stranded outside the EU, most of them in the Asia-Pacific region and the Americas, the European Commission said in a press release Friday.<\/p>\n
This concerns EU short-term travelers outside the EU. Currently, there are still around 98,900 EU citizens stranded abroad and efforts are ongoing to bring them home in the coming days, it noted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
