The three-day Pakistani rice and mango festival kicked off on Aug 14 night at Crowne Plaza in style. All shades of Kuwaiti life including officials, businessmen, intellectuals, community representatives and media attended the festivity to make it a colorful event.<\/p>\n
The fusion of diplomats from different countries of the world made the event special which was further enlivened by Pakistan\u2019s Ambassador to Kuwait Syed Abrar Hussain who welcomed each and every guest<\/p>\n
The Ambassador along with the Acting Dean of Diplomatic Core (also the Ambassador of Somalia) H.E Dr. Abdulkadir Sheikh Amin jointly cut the ceremonial cake to formally inaugurate the event.<\/p>\n
The cheerful evening at Al-Ahmadi restaurant was marked with the taste of fresh mango juice and various Pakistani dishes cooked in globally famous Basmati rice that greatly added to the joy of distinguished guests. The hall was beautifully decorated with photographs mesmerizing the audience with the stunning landscape of Pakistan while screens on the corners were airing documentaries on the life and people of this great country.<\/p>\n
Pakistan being world\u2019s third largest producer of mango produces some of the finest qualities of this fruit for their unique taste and sweetness. It is also home to more than 150 varieties of mangoes with European Union, Australia, South Korea, Japan, the Gulf and US being some of the major markets.<\/p>\n
Pakistan\u2019s Basmati rice too is second to none. Often referred as “Prince of fragrance”, it is one of the most sought after and costly rice in the world.<\/p>\n
The event, first of its kind organized by Pakistan Embassy, is part of efforts to introduce Pakistani products in Kuwaiti markets and develop new trade linkages between the two brotherly countries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
