A recent study revealed that listening to loud music through headphones exposes people under the age of 35 to hearing impairment or even loss. The study published by The Telegraph quoted experts as saying that young people\u2019s increasing reliance on headphones and their exposure to loud music constitutes a new health crisis emerging around the world. <\/p>\n
The study, which was conducted on more than a thousand people between the ages of 16 and 35 between June and October, found that 49% of them have hearing levels lower than normal, and that this affects their quality of life, reports Al-Qabas daily. <\/p>\n
The study pointed out that a quarter of people under the age of 35 suffer from hearing loss, while 2 out of every 5 people included in the study suffer from possible hearing loss, explaining that only 40% had any sign of hearing loss, while the status of the rest was not determined.<\/p>\n
The newspaper pointed out that the study was a test of the participants\u2019 listening to speech in noise, which required them to repeat 3 words that were heard with noise, and it found that half of the people under the age of 35 suffer from hearing difficulties, especially in the case of clarity of speech in noise.<\/p>\n
