Doctors in northeastern Peru saved the life of a two-year-old boy after he swallowed eight hypodermic needles while playing.<\/p>\n

Doctor Efrain Salasar said, \u201cWhen we were in the operating room and opened his stomach, we found these metal pieces, and we realized that they were in fact needles,\u201d reports Al-Rai daily.<\/p>\n

Media outlets in Peru reported that the needles were among those used to vaccinate animals on a farm where the child\u2019s mother works.<\/p>\n

The child, whose name has not been revealed, lives in the agricultural region of Taratubo, about 622 kilometers from the capital, Lima. \u201cMaybe he swallowed it while he was playing there,\u201d his mother said.
