With a view to increase\u00a0 the availability of organs and spread awareness about gifting a life, an enlightening and informative self-awareness workshop on <\/span><b>\u2018<\/b>Organ Donation\u2019 was conducted for the\u00a0 students of Classes IX and XI on Sunday, 21st <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">May, 2023.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The session was presided over by the resource person, Fr. Davis Chiramel (Chairman\u00a0 of Kidney Foundation of India) and harbinger of this great endeavour in Kuwait. During\u00a0 the session, he emphasized on the importance of organ donation and dispelled\u00a0 common misconceptions regarding organ donation. His talk was an eye opener on how valuable the gift of life is. The workshop included a comprehensive overview of Organ Transplantation with a lucid talk on Brain Death. Fr. Davis, himself being a donor, addressed the students on the need of donating organs and saving lives. He announced\u00a0 the commencement of the \u2018Run For a Life\u2019marathon, as well as elocution, drawing and\u00a0 quiz competition.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The session came to a close with Fr. Davis explaining the importance of the donor card\u00a0 and encouraged the students and parent community to be the ambassadors and custodians of this noble cause. It was absolutely an interactive, thought provoking and inspiring session.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the words of Myles Monroe: \u201cThe value of life is not in its duration, but it\u2019s donation\u201d,let us all strive to create a revolution and bring out the quintessence element in this noble cause.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Principal, Mr. Ravi Ayanoli thanked Father Chiramel for the valuable session and\u00a0 his humanitarian work.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Green Cross Kuwait, is a voluntary Organ Donation Drive, propagated and initiated with the noble cause of organ donation after death to save lives.
