{"id":126539,"date":"2023-04-10T09:56:15","date_gmt":"2023-04-10T06:56:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timeskuwait.com\/news\/?p=126539"},"modified":"2023-04-10T09:56:15","modified_gmt":"2023-04-10T06:56:15","slug":"vaccines-protect-against-cancer-if-given-before-exposure-to-virus-dr-saleh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timeskuwait.com\/news\/vaccines-protect-against-cancer-if-given-before-exposure-to-virus-dr-saleh\/","title":{"rendered":"Vaccines protect against cancer if given before exposure to virus: Dr Saleh"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Oncology consultant, Dr. Khaled Al-Saleh, said there are cancerous diseases associated with some viruses, and \u201cwe need increased knowledge of the role of viruses as a cause of cancer, and we also need to develop vaccines, as we did with the human papillomavirus (HPV) to help prevent some types of human cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Al-Saleh said in a statement to Al-Jarida, commenting on experts&#8217; assertion that a vaccine for the treatment of cancer and heart disease will be ready by 2030, that these vaccines cannot protect against infection unless they are given before a person is exposed to the virus that stimulates genetic deviations, and thus the changes that occur.<\/p>\n<p>It causes the cell to start dividing uncontrollably, which is cancer. He added that viruses consist of a small number of genes surrounded by a protein envelope, and the virus can enter inside a living cell, and it can control the cell&#8217;s machinery in order to reproduce and produce more viruses.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that some viruses do this by inserting their DNA into the host cell.
