The press service of the Far Eastern Federal University reports that the doctors of the university’s medical center were the first in the Far East to discover the treatment of arrhythmias with a unique technique that guarantees the safety and efficiency of the operation.<\/p>\n

According to the press service, radiofrequency ablation is used to restore normal heart rhythm in patients. A catheter is inserted into the patient, through the vessels that reach the heart, where the focus of the arrhythmia is \u201cstopped\u201d by a radio frequency pulse. In the past, the operation was complicated because the surgeon could not control the strength and direction of pressure of the catheter tip on the heart muscle, and had to work “on the tactile sensation,”\u00a0reports Al-Rai daily.<\/p>\n

The report said: \u201cIt was possible to qualitatively influence the effectiveness of the procedure and reduce the time required for its implementation thanks to the introduction of the unique TactiCath electrosurgical technology at the medical center. The algorithm embedded in the software of the navigation system made it possible to receive and process many parameters at the time of destruction of certain parts of the heart, which helped doctors to achieve almost 100 percent surgical efficiency and safety of the operation.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Gennady Shergin, an arrhythmologist at the medical center, success was ensured by a pressure sensor in the catheter, with which it is possible to measure the contact force of the device with the heart wall and see in numbers the effect indicator, that is, the completion of the treatment of the arrhythmia area . During the operation, the doctors were able to completely cover this area without damaging the healthy tissue of the heart muscle.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
