A committee has been formed comprising members from the Ministry of Interior, the Environment Public Authority, the Kuwait Municipality, and the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fisheries Resources to prepare a study to identify sites designated for camels and sheep breeders in the north and south of the country. <\/p>\n
The sources told Al-Rai daily, “The project aims to allocate sites for halal breeders and take into account the large numbers of camels and sheep, to confine them to those sites that suit them for grazing purposes in the country’s desert, to prevent overgrazing and preserve the desert environment from waste of those livestock.” <\/p>\n
The sources added, “The current situation and what the breeders are doing lawfully is considered a destruction of the Kuwaiti desert, through grazing and lack of interest in plants and herbs, which contributesto the exposure of the Kuwaiti desert to a large amount of damage.” <\/p>\n
The sources indicated that this project is a step in the right direction for halal breeders, by placing their livestock in locations where they will be contained to suit their numbers, limit them, and prevent them from being stolen or causing them to go out to highways that cause serious accidents, in addition to the presence of halal breeders in a geographical location and area, that preserves their livestock and organizes the grazing process properly, and at the same time grants them some privileges that contribute to and enhance food security in Kuwait. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
